Don't wait until the last minute. Remember that your schedule will get very hectic as your wedding day approaches. Dance instructors recommend starting four to six months earlier to allow more time for practice, especially if you are a newcomer to dancing.

Remember that dance lessons can actually be a stress reliever. Dancing is good exercise. Taking lessons pulls you away from your crazy, chaotic day. Spend an hour or so with your partner and enjoy a mini vacation of dancing and having fun.   

In addition to the Tango, the Waltz, Salsa, Swing and Hustle are all popular traditional dances for weddings today. If you already have a wedding song for the reception, bring it along to your dance lessons and ask your instructor to choreograph a routine for your song.  (Be sure to coordinate your wedding day dance with your wedding photographer, videographer, DJ and MC.)
